Yesterday was the Alpine YSA Stakes women conference. It really was an amazing weekend and wish I could of chosen more than two classes to attend because they all sounded amazing.
The one class that stood out the most to me was taught by Paul Boucher. He is a seminary teacher and really pulls you in. The Topic was finding hope in Christ. He just kept repeating over and over that we have a purpose. One of the things that really stuck out to me was when he said, "You can do anything when you walk hand in hand with Heavenly Father.' our Heavenly Father is always there and waiting for us to turn to Him so that we can guide us. He also kept saying that we may not always have an earthly father that we can turn to but we always have a daddy. And that is our Heavenly Father.
I also love that he told us that we have a purpose even if we are where we don't want to be. We always will have a purpose and we just need to figure out what our purpose is.
After the classes we then went to a musical program and then had a Keynote speaker Emily Freeman speak to us. She truly is an amazing person. She spoke about Peter and being fishers. We have "reaching" moments when we stretch ourselves out of our comfort zone. She shared a story about going on a class field trip out to this island on the coast of California. She said that the instructor would get up and when the boat raised up then you would grab a rung of the ladder and climb up to the top. The instructor would then pull away so that you wouldn't get crushed by the boat. She watched everyone else in her class do it and told the teacher that she couldn't do it. He told her that she could stay back at the boat and that he would drop anchor. She had seen sharks and didn't want to stay alone. So she climbed up and said that she really couldn't remember anything about what was on top of the island. She then said to turn to the scriptures and let the Lord take us on a field trip and reach. I really liked this part of a poem that she shared, "Change is never easy but neither is reaching for a star, by Nancy (can't remember the last name.)
The Lord stretches us so that we can become more like him and grow closer to Him. It really was a great experience and I am so glad that I was able to attend.
We also have had the oportunity to have one of Nate's converts Aaron Smith staying with us this weekend. It was so neat to be able to talk with him and hear what made him realize that this is what he needed to do by joining the church. He said that he had stopped Nate and His companion and asked if they needed a drink or something because it was so hot. They went to his house and he wasn't really all that interested. He had had contact with members and missionaries before but hadn't really thought it was for him. When Nate spoke about the plan of salvation, Nate also bore his testimony to him and Aaron just know that what Nate was saying is true.
He came to church with us today and it was amazing out it seemed like all of the meetings had topics that were just for him. Sacrament was on the Atonement and Jackson MaGary shared stories from His mission on seeing the atonement work in the converts. Then Brother Horan was the next speaker. It was just such a spiritually uplifting meeting. I just came home from church just feeling like I really had gained something spiritually. It was having a new member and realizing for myself that this is really the true church.
I am so very thankful for the Gospel in my life and that I have the gift of the Holy Ghost to guide and be with me all the time. I know that this Church is true.

For Saint Patrick's day we ate corn beef and cabbage. On Friday we went to Grandma's and worked in her yard. She had mint chocolate ice cream for me. It is my favorite.

This last week we went on Trek from the 14th to the 17th. We had an experience just like the really pioneers. We had to eat flour one night. We had a rescue party come and feed us. We pulled handcarts and had people die like the pioneers did. It was so neat and uplifting.

Today I turned 16. I got a bag from my aunt Chris, Jackets from Grandma Kay, 16 year old doll and a bracelet from Grandma Fran. I got clothes from Grandma Jody and Grandpa Don. I had a birthday party. We played games and went to Princess Dairies 2. On the Saturday before my birthday. The gifts I got are: An AF Blanket that my Friend Lyndsi's mom made for me, a journal and Candy from Rachel Chase, Candy and the Charly c.d from Melissa McCelland. Brooke and Brittany Jess gave me a bear and a Random c.d. Sister Campbell game a scrapbook. Lauren Wade sent me a card. My dad took me on my first date on my birthday. He brought me a rose and a cool card. We went to Shrek 2. he made me a big sign that he hung on the front porch that said "Alexis sweet 16". I had the best birthday ever.

Today was Brynne Wright's birthday. She turned 16. We brought her 16 candy canes, 16 M&M's and a 16 piece puzzle. We gave her 16 things since it was her 16th birthday.

My little Sister Abby got baptized on the 25th. She is the last one in our family to get baptized. She got baptized with her best friend Jordan Spencer and also with Victoria Geppert. They sang a song called "I come to the Water". Our dad baptized her. Aunt Chris, Uncle Mike and their kids, Mark & Holly and their kids, Grandma Fran & Grandpa Bill and Grandma Kay all came. Nate, Shelby and I were there. Some of Abby's, Jordan's and Victoria's friends came.

Today was Nate's birthday party. We played flag football. I made a touch down because Jace Campbell passed the ball to me. It was fun. Anytime someone's flag came off we said they lost their pants. Nate's friends that came were: Jace Campbell, Spencer Vernon, Spencer Coleman, Garrett Skirvin, Justin Brockbank, Steve Clark, Dallin Horan and Dallin Vance.

On Thursday the 29th of October we went to Colorado. Thursday- Grandma made dinner and we watched a movie. A Cinderella Story. Friday- It was snowing so we went out to lunch and went on a tour of the Fairy cave. Then we went out to dinner. Saturday- Grandma made breakfast. French toast and sausage. We went and feed the horses. Then we went to a corn maze. Grandma made dinner. chicken, salad, Spinach caseroll. For lunch we had Pizza from a resturant next door. We watched another movie. Sunday- Grandma Jody made muffins and sausage for breakfast. We watched another movie. We went on a sculptor tour. Then went to Grandma Fran's house and had dinner. On Saturday we did trick-or-treating thing for Abby because Halloween was on Sunday.

Today my aunt Holly had her fourth baby. they have named her Sophia. She weighed 8 lbs 4 oz and 20 inches. I am very excited for a new baby cousin. So we are babysitting Kimball, Nick and Kate who got sick while she is here.

Today it snowed. Now it really is windy as I am trying to go to sleep. I probably will have trouble falling asleep because of the wind, but I am use to it now. Today Shelby and Abby hung Christmas lights. I helped a little. They did it while mom and dad were gone to Nate's games. He had three. they won two and lost one.

Today was Lauren Wade's birthday. She turned sweet sixteen. Today we painted our ornaments from last Christmas. We get an ornament every Christmas. Mine was a star. it was painted a country red and green with gold snowflake. I also did the stitching around the edge gold. It is awesome.

I have been driving around town with a parent in the car. I have driven from Lyndsi's house in American Fork. I don't drive when it is snowing hard like it was on Sunday. That was freezing cold. The was that was blowing was bitter cold.

We drove to Wyoming for Youth Conference. Some went river rafting and some stayed back to setup camp. It rained. I played uno with sister Gines. We did workshops, had a fireside. I wasn't feeling loved today.

We were escorted to the orientation and FHE by a boy. The boy had both me and Lauren. The boys were very talkative. Their are deaf people here this week. We learned what a rag picker is. they would look for things people thought were junk and would use them. We have a chance to change somebodies life. " if you have a chance do peer tutoring. I think this is going to be a good experience for me spiritually. I am so glad Lauren came to efy with me. I am glad I am here.

I am fifteen years old. I want to marry someone like Moroni, Helamen and Nephi. We went to Deer Springs ranch for UEA. We went to Zions, grand canyon. We went with the Chase's (who live down the street from us). We rode Ben's four wheeler and played card games. We also went to the Glen canyon dam. Were we took an elevator to the bottom of the dam. the dam is also used for a power plant. When we were at Zion's and the grand canyon we went on a hike. The Chase's cousin Josh went with. On Sunday we are having sacrament meeting at the Cabin. When I looked out the window and saw cows. They left cow pies in the yard of the cabin. The little kids went out side and stepped in some of the cow pies.

For Christmas I got a book, clothes, shoes, a mirror, ornament, they whole family got a ping pong table. My Grandparents from Denver came over for Christmas.

She went to the Ward Party with us. We had Navajo tacos for dinner. Then we came home and and got ready for bed.

It has been a terrible week in the United States. With the Terrorist attacks. Two towers fell when airplanes flew into them. I've been praying for the people who lost friends, family members, moms or dads. We've had our flag out since Tuesday September 11th. We'' have the flags out until the end of the month. We got to Disneyland this week. September 22nd we leave. I had a birthday party on September 14th. It was for my 13th birthday. I got Carley a Ty cat from Lauren Wade my best friend. I also got a charm bracelet from Lyndsi Bromley my best friend.

We went to Disneyland last week on the 24-26. We went on Dumbo. I got a T-shirt will all the characters on it. We loved Disneyland. We went to California Adventure. We went on Soaring over California, Grizzly Rapids, we got soaked on it. We did big Thunder Mountain, Snow Whites scary ride, Peter Pan's flight, Ponocios Journey. I got earring for my friends. There little mickey mouse earrings. We played at the beach when we got back to San Diego after we were in Anaheim we went to the wild Animal Park and saw a lot of animals. We went to sea World in San Diego. We saw seals, polar bears and dolphins. We saw Shamuu and the baby Shamuo. We Saw the dolphin show.

We went to Wyoming and did Martin's Cove. After we did Martin's cove we went to Denver, Colorado for my cousins baby blessing. He was a cute baby boy. His name is Joshua. On Saturday night we played four square in their living room. Everyone tried to get Paul out. There are the people who played: Belinda, Misty, Mark, Paul, Alexis, Shelby, Craig, and Nate. I start school soon. August 20th is when I start.

Today I went to girls camp. We setup our tents and then we ate dinner. After dinner we had a stake devotional. Then we came back to camp and played the exchange game. The table cloth caught on fire because the lantern was leaking oil on the table.

Today we went on a five mile hike and got our picture taken for a craft we were going to be doing the next day. President Gibson did the splits and sang songs. then the wards did skits and I was in a commerical.

I got a separator on Friday Feb. 23 at 3:30pm by Dr. Marz. My Sunday school teachers gave a talk today in Church today. Friday Feb. 23 (I think) Jamie Price and I had a sleepover at my house. She went to the Ward Party with us. We had Navajo tacos for dinner. Then we came home and and got ready for bed.

It has been a terrible week in the United States. With the Terrorist attacks. Two towers fell when airplanes flew into them. I've been praying for the people who lost friends, family members, moms or dads. We've had our flag out since Tuesday September 11th. We'' have the flags out until the end of the month. We got to Disneyland this week. September 22nd we leave. I had a birthday party on September 14th. It was for my 13th birthday. I got Carley a Ty cat from Lauren Wade my best friend. I also got a charm bracelet from Lyndsi Bromley my best friend.

We went to Disneyland last week on the 24-26. We went on Dumbo. I got a T-shirt will all the characters on it. We loved Disneyland. We went to California Adventure. We went on Soaring over California, Grizzly Rapids, we got soaked on it. We did big Thunder Mountain, Snow Whites scary ride, Peter Pan's flight, Ponocios Journey. I got earring for my friends. There little mickey mouse earrings. We played at the beach when we got back to San Diego after we were in Anaheim we went to the wild Animal Park and saw a lot of animals. Paula got married to Cameron Taylor on October 1th. she looked pretty in her dress. She is a friend how babysits us when mom and dad go over night. She is nice to us. There was a pinata at her wedding. She was blindfolded and was hitting it. The rope got wrapped around her. She grabbed the pinta with her hand will she was blindfolded and hit it open. A lot of candy came out of the pinata. We got a picture with her. When my dad told her I was taller then her she said I wish I didn't have that picture taken. I'll miss Paula alot. I hope she will visit us some time soon. On Thursday i fell off my chair. It hurt badly. (13 years later I am making an addition to this story so that you know what really happened. I was standing on the chair trying to get one of my art projects down that was hanging on the ceiling.) I went to the school nurse who checked my hand I landed on with my other hand to see if it was swollen. I wasn't swollen at all. The nurse called my mom to tell her what happened. My mom wanted to talk to me. I was crying when I talked with her. I went home from school because it hurt real bad.

I got a porcelain doll, a down comforter, scrapbook kit, 2 long sleeve shirts, a sweater, 2 short sleeve shirts, PJ's, Dixie chick c.d, trampoline, a book name Mandy, 5 dollars, 20 dollars, a diary, a tape of a talk by John Bytheway,
a bear, a watch, a frog, a symphony bar, chap stick, mittens, candy cane and a polar bear made out of beads. I also got a card and candy, a mirror and picture frames.

I love my little baby sister Abigail. I love my baby brother Nate. I want to be married in the temple someday-that makes me feel good about myself. At school I'm learning about sedimentary rocks. At church I've been learning about Joseph Smith and it makes me happy that he made it possible for me to have the scriptures. I love my grandma and grandpas. My grandma Fran's brother John has been in the hospital and we pray for him. His son Johnny was killed in the accident.

There are two stories going on at the same time. I went to the play cats with my aunt and uncle. I like the play cats alot. It was a love story going on in much ado about nothing.

Today was stake Conference. We sang in choir. The songs we sung were: we are as the army of Helaman, search, ponder and pray, and I know the scriptures are true.

Today i moved to the City of Highland from American Fork. We now live in a new home. We moved in after Christmas (We brought the beds over on Christmas). Because we were wanting the house to be finished being built we feed the workers doughnuts, milk and Juice so that they would finish the house faster. I really like the new house because I have my own bedroom. Nate & Abby have to share because the basement isn't finished. We have to go to a new school Legacy instead of Shelley. I have made a new friend name Corrine Sanderson. She is really nice to me.

I love my family. I love my grandma's and grandpa's. i love my aunts and uncles. I like school. I got a button for getting my school work done at school, it's called the "super kid" button. I take a "smart" pill before school each day. I'm already smart, but it helps me stay focused.
Last week we went cross-country skiing. There was so much snow on the road that we just about got stuck. on one hill, we had to back up and try again three times before we got up. Skiing was fun.
I like my teacher -- Mrs. Jeffs. She plays the piano in Primary, too. I like my classmates. I like to take test. I like computers. I like my computer teacher Mrs. Monfredi. She is also my primary teacher.
Today I gave a talk in Primary. It was about how I feel the Savior's love and what he did for me.

We have a new puppy but we might not be able to keep it, because mommy is going to have a baby this fall. He's a little black puppy. We are watching his brother right now who lives with our friends the Tuttle's.
We went to Brianhead last month and saw cousins that we haven't seen for a long time. We made a hut in the trees and some boys wrecked it. Papa is my uncle Bill Hull but he's the rest of my cousins grandpa so I call him Papa too.
I can't wait until school starts. I will be in a multi-age class. I love the puppy. I'm going to be baptized when I turn eight. I need to pray about the church and read my scriptures.
My uncle Mike and Aunt Chris announced that they are going to have a baby. Aunt Holly and Uncle Mark are having one any day. These babies will be my very first cousins.
My mom should have a baby girl and then I'll have a baby sister.

Two weeks ago I was baptized by my daddy. The water was very cold. I was baptized along with Jacob Begay and Jacob had to pull the plug in the font when we were through. I asked my Grandpa Potter to give a talk on Baptism. I wore a white dress. It felt very strange and wasn't like swimming in a swimming pool.
I promised to keep the commandments so that I can live with Heavenly Father again.
Goals:
1- Say prayers every night before bed.
How: mommy will remind me.

I have a little baby sister and I love her very much. Mr. P. is my school teacher. (Prettyman) He gives us arithmatics to work on. I like him very much because he gives us tests.
Two weeks ago I was baptized by my daddy. The water was very cold. I was baptized along with Jacob Begay and Jacob had to pull the plug in the font when we were through. I asked my Grandpa Potter to give a talk on Baptism. I wore a white dress. It felt very strange and wasn't like swimming in a swimming pool.
I promised to keep the commandments so that I can live with Heavenly Father again.
Goals:
1- Say prayers every night before bed.
How: mommy will remind me.
2. Read the scriptures every school night.

January to November 1995
Sunday January 15, 1995
Last Saturday I went to Joe's Valley with daddy to set some goals. I set the goal to say my prayers each night, invite a friend over two times and to help in the kitchen. Yesterday I went sking and did well. Sometimes I cried when I fell down.
During the Holidays friends of ours from Texas the Knights and the Figgins came to visit us. They were fun and I miss them. I have a new teacher in church, her name is Cathy Addley. She teaches us good things. Today we learned about keeping the commandments and the Holy Ghost.
I like the Lion King movie and soon we are going to buy it. Tomorrow I have a day off from school. Grandma Kay and Grandpa Reed were going to come visit today but a storm came. I love them and sometimes we go visit them in Salt Lake City.
I still like to sleep with my blanket. I have two loose teeth and one big tooth in the back is coming in and makes my cheek hurt.

I love my polar bear he is my favorite stuffed animal. I also love my Ariel sleeping bag. I slept with it last night. I am a CTR now and I have a new teacher, her name is Kathy Addley. I love her. She taught us about Joseph Smith today. Joseph is a prophet, a prophet teaches us thing about Heavenly Father. I know Joseph Smith is a true Prophet. I went to see Lion King for Shelby's birthday party. I gave Shelby a glitter writer for her present. Its like an etch-a-sketch but better. That is all I want to write today.

This past week we spent 4 nights at Grandma Kay and Grandpa Reed's. We swang on the swing in her backyard. Shelby and I swang on our favorite swing a bunch of times. When we got home I threw up again.
We drove to Park City to see my friend Nicole Flake. Nicole and I hugged each other and went on a treasure hunt behind the library. We dropped Nicole off at her school and said good-by. I like to see Haleigh, her little sister, too and her baby brother Paul, too. In school I'm learning to count and add numbers. Before going to SLC I went to kesler's birthday, he's a boy in my class. I love my mom & dad.

You learned to ride a bike tonight. Amazingly enough it was Savannah, our neighbor just a year a head of you in school who taught you. Dad & I were pleasantly pleased and shocked since we had both tried and tried to help you. You were so proud of yourself. We took Savannah and you out for ice cream. The trick seemed to be trying it on the grass and being coached by your peer.

I love my daddy. Because he was sweet to me when I was a baby. (he's still sweet!)
I wrecked on my bike this week and daddy had to put three stitches in my knee.
I love my mommy. She sat by me and held me while I was getting my stitches.
I love grandma Kay and Reed. I like their dog too. I hit the ball at my baseball game. I like my coach whose name is Kenny. I love Grandma Fran and Bok. They are my friends. I want to be a nurse when I grow so that I can give shots to people. I think Nate wants to be a doctor so that he can give people stitches. I think I would like to be a doctor too. Shelby should be a nurse and a doctor.
I love all my aunts and uncles. Phil, Lisa, Mike and Christina. They give me presents. I love Paul and Mark too. Next week is my last week of Kindergarten. We get to go swimming on a field trip. I think it will be fun. I get my stitches out before then.

Right now my Grandma Kay is in Spain. Grandpa Reed is staying at cowpuncher. I love Grandma Kay's dog Miranda. My uncle Mark got married in July to Holly and I was a flower girl.
September 24, 1995 ( dad's writing)
Last weekend we went camping---dad, Shelby, Nate and I went. Mom stayed home with her friends at their annual high school retreat. Friday night we stayed at swinging bridge campground in the Backhorn. On Saturday we drove to Goblin Valley. I loved playing on the Goblin shaped rocks in the valley of the Goblins. After lunch we hiked in Little Wild Horse Canyon, then we drove on a dirt road to Capital reef National Park. At Capital Reef we played in a pool of water where a waterfall sprayed us with a mist. I love my mommy and daddy. I love Shelby and Nate and I love Alex. I have my birthday this month at Cowpuncher. Phil, Lisa, Mike, Chris, Chris' mom and dad, Grandma Kay and Grandpa Reed and mom and dad were all there. The best part was my Pocahontas Cake. Now I'm excited for Christmas. My new house is fun, school is fun too. Mrs. Jeff's is my teacher.

The wind is blowing in the country. Snow is falling on the ground. The primary did a singing concert at the Church and I spoke about the Articles of Faith revealed by God to his prophet Joseph Smith. I get to have three recesses at school. When we get our work done. I read words up on the board. I like school a whole bunch. I like my teacher Mrs. Jeffs. I like what she teaches us. Math is fun and I like the kids in my class. I went to a cabin call Helaman Hollow with my Potter cousins for Thanksgiving. I love my cousins expecially Mary Frandsen. I had fun at Mary's cabin in Scofield where we visited her. I had so much fun that I didn't want to leave.

August to December 1994
So the pages in my journals are starting to make the ink fade so I have decided that I would enter them on my blog as I print my blog off as a book.
August 20, 1994( in my dad's writing)
Alex loves her new primary teacher. We have just moved to Orangeville Utah. We are in the Orangville 1st ward. Alex will be starting kindergarten in two days and today she received a fathers blessing. In that blessing she was told she is a happy, smart girl. She was blessed with the ability to be patient, listen to her teacher and learn well the information she is taught. She was blessed with the ablilty to descern right from wrong and with courage to avoid doing things that were wrong.
Alex loves her mommy, daddy, sister and brother. she enjoys the apartment she is living in. She has met a lot of new friends. Mrs. Anderson is her teacher and she met her at back to school night last week. Alex is going to like her a lot. She is very nice. The apartment we live in has a neat back yard. I have a blanket that I love very much. I sleep with it and snuggle it frequently throughout the day. I love my dad.

It snowed today. I love my brother and sister. I like to sleep over at Grandma and Grandpa's house. I slept at Grandma and Grandpa's while mom and dad went to the temple.
I like Kindergarten and get to do homework each day. I'm learning to write letters and words. I like my mommy and daddy. I feel sick sometimes-like today. I like to be happy. Having good friends makes me happy. I like to go to weddings. I'm glad to have a new grandpa named Reed Spjut. Grandma Kay loves reed and married him in the temple. I like to jump on Reed's trampoline. I am looking forward to being baptized.

I like to play outside on the playground. i love my blankie. I feel happy when I do the right things. I feel sad when I don't have friends to play with. I spoken in sacrament meeting a couple of weeks ago. I love kindergarten. I love going to visit Bok and Fran in Price. This past week I was a witch for Halloween. We went trick-or-treating with our neighbors, the Tuttles. Then we went to the carnival at the school.

I got to be an angel in the Christmas program last night at our ward Christmas party. I love my blanky, I sleep with it every night. I also like to with with a bowl beside me because sometimes I think that I might throw-up. I also like my little mermaid sleeping bag. I love my Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Anderson. She makes thins for us and teaches us how to make them. This week we spent the night at Grandma Fran and Grandpa Bok's house even though they are in Spain picking up Paul from his mission. We had to clean the house to make sure it looked nice when Paul got home. We are going to make a big banner and balloons to welcome Paul home. We will just change the name on the banner for later this month with Mark get's home.
